Azure DevOps repo scanning for API & AI discovery

Updated: October 10, 2025

This integration allows you to scan your Azure DevOps repositories for OpenAPI specifications, AI models, and prompts by connecting FireTail to your Azure DevOps account. It also supports generating OpenAPI specifications through static code analysis for selected programming languages.

  1. Navigate to Integrations in the FireTail platform.
  2. Select Azure DevOps Repo Scanning.
  3. Complete the integration form fields:
    • Name of Integration: Enter a descriptive name for this integration.
    • Enabled: Toggle to enable or disable the integration.
    • Project: Choose an existing project or click Create to group discovered APIs under a new one.
    • Enable AI Feature: Enable this feature to generate more detailed OpenAPI specifications.
      • Note: You will need to agree to the terms and conditions.
    • Scan Frequency: Set how often repositories should be scanned. Minimum scan interval is 24 hours.
  4. Click Authenticate with Azure DevOps.
  5. A new window will open. Log in to Azure DevOps (if required).

Once authenticated, the integration will be setup and begin scanning based on the configured frequency.

Reauthenticate the Integration

If you need to update the permissions granted to FireTail (e.g., after changing repository access settings), you can reauthenticate the integration:

  • Go to the Existing Integrations tab. Locate the Azure DevOps integration you previously set up. Click the integration, then click Reauthenticate with Azure DevOpst. Complete the authorization flow to refresh access and permissions.
